Update Overview

On Wednesday, Nov 12th, 4:10 PM PST (11:10 PM UTC), we are going to perform the Cloud Portal Update.

The new release (25.1) will be deployed.

Release Notes

BREAKING CHANGES

  • ATTENTION! The support for VMS versions 4.2 or 5.0 is officially dropped! The corresponding banner is shown if connecting to Sites running versions 5.0 and lower.

TERM CHANGES

  • The term "System" is renamed to "Site". This change will be applied across all products (VMS, Cloud, Mobile, Connect).

NEW FEATURES

  • The ability to limit user sessions is introduced (Site settings).

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Improved the Cloud Portal color scheme according to the branding color palette.

  • Sites v5.1 could take up to 20 seconds to load within Cloud Portal. Now they show up much faster.

  • The Storage Management dialog in Server Settings was redesigned.

BUG FIXES

  • Bookmarks did not show for users who only had the "View Bookmarks" permission. Fixed.

  • Fixed minor issues that could prevent users from creating Cross-Site Layouts.

  • The "Enable Audio" checkbox in camera settings was not working properly. Fixed.

  • The server name on the settings page did not update after being changed until the page was refreshed. Fixed.

  • The Channel Partner state did not display until the page was refreshed. Fixed.

  • Some users did not receive Emails originated from VMS and routed via Cloud. Fixed.

  • The WebRTC Manager testing page (http://webrtc.chrisczach.com ) could not display streams from servers. Fixed.

DOWNTIME

  • Up to 10 minutes for Cloud Connectivity.

  • Existing connections will not be affected.

MAINTENANCE LOG

Nov 12, 2025 (PST):

  • 12:00 PM - Preparation started

  • 12:10 PM - While preparing for this release, we discovered an outage will occur as the Discovery service resents to a separate EC2 in ECS. We are rescheduling this, as there will be a small amount of downtime as Discovery service resync to its original EC2.

    • We decided to move the deployment to Friday 4:10 PM PST (11:10 PM UTC)

Nov 14, 2025 (PST):

  • 4:00 PM - Preparation started

  • 4:21 PM - Update Started

  • 4:35 - Update Completed

  • 4:35 - Restart (Downtime Started)

  • 4:40 - Restart Complete

  • 4:45 - We are experiencing issues with discovery service which affects connectivity

  • 4:55 - Connectivity issues are resolved (Downtime Ended)

  • 4:57 - Testing Started

  • 5:20 - Testing Successfully Ended.
